Arnova 7 – Redefining Affordability

by Blake on September 3, 2011

Tablets are probably the last thing we’d buy if we have a list of list of priorities that includes a PC and a smartphone, mainly because we regard them as a half breed. Even though they combine the raw power of a computer with the mobility and ergonomic aspect of a smartphone, they are both slower and bigger than the other two. Add to this the relatively high price we have to pay for a tablet, and it’s pretty obvious why we’ll postpone their purchase until after we own the other two. Arnova doesn’t try to reinvent the wheel or change our set of values over night, but they propose a very affordable alternative.

arnova-7Specialized in supplying customers worldwide with the best value tablets at reasonable costs, they have recently introduced the Arnova 7 at the amazing price of $99. This isn’t of course an iPad 2 killer, but at this price it doesn’t have to be, since it’s targeted public is the one looking for an inexpensive tablet that won’t hurt they budget. Arnova 7 sports a seven-inch touchscreen display with a resolution of 800×480 and has the capability of 720p HD playback. It is yet to be determined how much RAM it has and how powerful the CPU is, but we know for a fact that it has 4GB of memory and no camera.

This might look like a downside, because we are so used with tablets being equipped with both front facing and rear cameras, but in reality, it is not. Most of the tablet owners own a smartphone as well and use it to capture both pictures and videos, because the tablet’s size makes it less adequate for this task. Add to this that most tablets have sub-par cameras, and you won’t think twice about buying the Arnova 7 if the camera issue was the only one holding you back.
