HTC Sensation – A Rival for Samsung Galaxy S 2

It took just a few weeks before Samsung’s flagship smartphone found its first contender for the title of the best Android device, and HTC was the one to challenge the Korean manufacturer. Their latest release is the HTC Sensation, and this is the first 4.3-inch smartphone with qHD resolution. The advantages are obvious and they include more contacts listed, higher resolution for better visual polish and more content displayed, which translated into less scrolling. Furthermore, the 4.3-inch display doesn’t hurt the ergonomics in any way and in this particular aspect, the HTC Sensation is superior to Samsung Galaxy 2.

htc_sensation_4gThe aluminum casing is also more durable than its rival and with these mobiles being just as slim, it is an obvious plus. One the flip side, the software used is the Android 2.3.3 adjusted for the Sense 3.0 which despite being the latest version released is not very innovative. It is still a step forward, with the subtle tweaks and enhancements making it superior to previous installments, but the critics will probably argue that it’s too little too late. Except for that, the HTC Sensation is considerably faster than the Flyer and being a dual-core smartphone makes it a worthy contender for the speedy Galaxy 2.

The battery is lasting longer than expected, and it uses virtually no energy when left on idle, so unless you put it to serious tests it won’t require daily charging. The most battery consuming process is video recording and so is taking photos, but if you are more excited about playing games on it, then you won’t have any problems. One of the advantages all HTC users have is the access to the Watch service, which allows them to watch or rent movies online. The bottom line is that the HTC Sensation has a fighting chance even when pitted against Galaxy S, thanks to its superior resolution and battery life.
