Spotify Unveils its New Android App with New Nifty Features

Spotify has been around for just four years but those who love this music streaming service feel like they have been using it since forever. Enjoying some of the most popular artists or fledgling ones has never been easier, so it comes as no surprise that fans chose to use the service on their smartphones as well. Given the computing power and the mobility offered by these gadgets, users downloaded the app as soon as it was introduced. Android fans surely remember with pleasure the Froyo version and most of them still use it these days when Ice Cream Sandwich reigns supreme.

This is not simply a gimmick to draw some attention on the app, because it has been completely redesigned to meet the high expectations of Android Ice Cream Sandwich users. There are still many details that the beta version hides from us, but what we see is encouraging, and we can safely say that the change is for the better.

High resolution smartphones and gorgeous displays do it justice, and if you are among those who used the old app intensely, these changes will appeal to you. Some things are usually lost in translation and with the new version, users might fear that the change will have some downsides besides all the perks. Luckily, this is not the case and while all the features are still there, they look better and perform their task more effectively. Smartphones have come a long way and Spotify taps into their great potential to offer the users the same advantages that they like the desktop version for.

If you like social networks and spend a lot of time interacting with your friends there, you will like what Spotify suggests. It is now easy to follow your friends and see what kind of artists they are favoring and, which are the songs that they like more. This is a great way to get familiar with new genres or simply enjoy some beautiful songs that you didn’t know of. For those who are reluctant to check out an entire playlist and hope that the songs that they hear are good ones, being suggested, which are the best ones by is refreshing.

Do not panic if you don’t see the Android widget in the beta version because the final one will surely introduce it, alongside other innovative features. Spotify offers the same top quality service that we grew to expect from them, but it looks better than ever on smartphones running on Android Ice Cream Sandwich. For now we only have the preview version to enjoy and a couple of screenshots to imagine how the final version will look like. It is enough to convince us that it is worth waiting, and by the time it hits Google Play Store, we should have no hesitations in downloading it.
